Man Attacked While Pumping Gas

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Deputies are looking for the suspect involved in the beating of a man who was filling gas tanks early last week.

According to Richland County deputies, a man was filling up the gas tanks at an Exxon station on Monticello Road last Wednesday morning at about 4:30 AM.

The sheriff says that a woman approached the man and asked to use his cell phone. When the victim replied that he didn't have one, two men approached the victim pointed handguns at him.

The suspects, according to deputies, assaulted the victim, knocking him to the ground, then dragging him behind the dumpster and demanding cash. The sheriff stated that the suspects stole cash, a flashlight, and a calculator from the victim and then ran away.
