Police intend to charge him with attempted murder, tampering with evidence, and unlawful carrying of a weapon following a shooting on Kings Street Saturday evening that was caught on a home security system.

Sumter Police Chief Russell Roark says it's the latest in a string of incidents in the South Sumter area.

"Since January, we've had 9 shootings in a 10 block area," Roark said.

Dingle's mother contacted News19, telling us the shooting was captured on her security camera.

She says she put in the cameras because her home had been shot at several times. Chief Roark says he doesn't want to paint the city as a dangerous place but recognizes that with nine shootings since January, it's a problem that must be solved.
