USC Police ID Suspect in Horseshoe Robbery

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - University of South Carolina Police have identified a suspect in the on-campus robbery last week of a student.

Officers have obtained warrants for 40-year-old Kevin Rick O'Neal.

Back on August 21, police say O'Neal pulled a gun on a student walking on the Horseshoe and demanded money. When the student said he didn't have any money, police say the suspect forced him to go back to his dorm room at East Quad.

O'Neal is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. A State Law Enforcement Division background check reveals O'Neal has a long criminal history, including convictions for burglary, shoplifting, and criminal domestic violence.
