LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WLTX) - A Lexington man is behind bars after officers say he left his 8-month-old daughter in a car seat while he was getting his vehicle serviced.

According to the Lexington County Sheriff's Department, Ca Mvuh, 48, handed his keys to a technician at the tire and lube center of the Walmart located in Redbank. They say the baby was strapped in the seat for about 90 minutes before an employee found her.

"It was a blistering hot July day with temperatures, according to the National Weather Service, in the mid to upper 90s. We’re very glad to hear this child is going to be fine," Sheriff Jay Koon says.

Officers say the girl was being evaluated at the store while Mvuh was shopping inside the building. When he returned, he saw her being evaluated. She was not transported.

Mvuh is held at the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
