Deputies: Man Beat Up Girlfriend, Set Her House on Fire

Lexington, SC (WLTX) - Lexington County deputies have arrested a man who they say assaulted his girlfriend, then set her car and house on fire.

Jeremiah Luke Humphries, 36, is charged with domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature and two counts of third degree arson.

Officers say Humphries got into an argument with his girlfriend outside her home near Lake Murray.  Deputies say he then assaulted the woman and set her car on fire. The car fire then caused the home to ignite as well.

Humphries is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center.
