Deputies: Man Shoots Victim Three Times After Argument

The Sumter County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting on Saturday.

SUMTER COUNTY, SC - (WLTX) -- One man is charged after Sumter County deputies say he shot a person in a vehicle several times following an argument.

Deputies say 46-year-old Eric Canty of Sumter is charged with three counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Officials say Canty arrived at a home on in the 1800 block of Kolb Road and began arguing with a man who was with the victim and another woman. The three had stopped by the home to drop off flowers for the woman's parents.  

Deputies say Canty began shooting at them as they were leaving the home. One person was shot three times and was quickly driven to a local Sumter hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
