Deputies: Person Shot Leaving Local Nightclub

Richland County Deputies say a person was shot outside a local nightclub.

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC - (WLTX) -- One person was shot leaving a local nightclub early Saturday morning, according to the Richland County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies say they responded to the incident just before 2:00 a.m. at the 3900 block of West Beltline Boulevard. They say the victim was being picked up from Sunset Place on Two Notch Road when someone in a dark vehicle drove up and fired shots inside the other automobile. The suspect or suspects then sped away. The victim was hit in the upper body.

Deputies say a witness drove the victim to West Beltline then pulled over to allow responders to transport the person to a local hospital. The victim's condition is unknown at this time.

This shooting remains under investigation by the Richland County Sheriff's Department.
