Jail Officer Accused of Selling Phone to Inmate

Richland County, SC (WLTX) - A Richland County jail officer is accused of selling a cell phone to an inmate at the facility.

Valshawn Frazier, 34, is charged with misconduct in office and contraband.

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott says Frazier brought a cell phone and charger to the jail where she worked, then sold the items to the inmate for $125.

The phone was found during a random search at the jail.

Richland County officials say Frazier will be fired from her position.
