Man Found Shot to Death in Richland County

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WLTX) - A man who was found lying in the road with gunshot wounds Saturday evening is dead, according to the Richland County Sheriff's Department. 

Coroner Gary Watts said 28-year-old Beethoven Romain was killed from a gunshot wound to the torso.

Deputies say they responded to a shots fired call in the 7000 block of Mountain Brook Drive around 7:30 p.m. Saturday evening to find a man lying unresponsive in the road.

Romain was transported by EMS to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead just after 10 pm Saturday night. according to deputies.
