Man Pleads Guilty to 2009 Murder at ATM in Forest Acres

Fairfield County, SC (WLTX) - The man charged with the 2009 shooting death of a woman at an ATM in Forest Acres, has pleaded guilty.

Chief Deputy Keith Lewis with the Fairfield County Sheriff's Department says Kendrick Nesbitt entered the plea in a Fairfield courtroom on Monday. He has been sentenced to life in prison.

Nesbitt shot and killed 55-year-old Lynne Thompson at a Bank of America ATM in Trenholm Plaza.

Authorities say Thompson was making a transaction when Nesbitt walked up to her armed with a handgun, shot her multiple times, removed her from the vehicle, then drove away in her car.

The vehicle was discovered a few miles from where the crime took place.

Nesbitt has an extensive criminal history, which includes prison time for armed robbery.
