Man Wanted for Killing Columbia Ft. Bragg Soldier

A federal warrant has been issued for 27-year-old Jason Armstrong Jr.

Ft. Bragg, NC (WLTX) - The FBI is searching for a man who they say killed his wife, who was a Columbia native stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Agents want to find 27-year-old Jason Earl Armstong Jr.

Officers say back on July 1, he killed 24-year-old Iris Armstrong inside their home at the Fayetteville, North Carolina base. Shortly after the murder, investigators say he was caught on surveillance video using his wife's debit card.

Iris Armstrong grew up in Columbia and graduated from Richland Northeast High School, then went through basic training at Fort Jackson.  She was a human resources specialist assigned to the 189th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division Sustainment Brigade.

Armstrong has ties to Columbia, Atlanta, New Orleans, Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and Amarillo, Texas, so he could be trying to go to one of those areas.

Anyone who sees him should call 9-1-1. A $5,000 reward is being offered in the case.
