Missing Sumter Woman was Shot to Death, Coroner Says

Sumter, SC (WLTX) - The Sumter County Coroner's office says a woman who was found dead in a local forest had been shot to death.

The office released the cause of death of 27-year-old Suzette Ginther Saturday. Officers say she was hit in the head by gunfire. 

The Cherryvale woman was reported missing Thursday. But just hours after that report was filed, her body was found by a hunter in Manchester National Forest near Camp Burnt Gin.

The Sumter County Sheriff's office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are investigating.
