Police: Man Pretended to be a Cop at Walmart

Camden, SC (WLTX) - Camden police say a man pretended to be a cop at a Walmart store.

The incident involving Jody Sean Parker, 33, took place on July 7th at the store located on West Dekalb Street.

Officers say just before 11 p.m., a Camden police officer wearing civilian clothes was walking around Walmart when he noticed two men come inside. One of the men, identified as Parker, was wearing a black shirt with the word "police" on it. The person also had a gold badge around his neck that said "fugitive recovery agent," and was wearing a hat with the word "police" on it.

An incident report says the plainclothes officer asked Parker if he was a police officer, and Parker said, "yeah, how can I help you?" The offices asked him a second time, and Parker said yes again. When the officer asked him what department he was with, Parker reportedly said "how can I help you?"

At that point, the officer identified himself as a real policeman, and told Parker that he was under arrest.

The man Parker came in with left the store and could not be located.
