Search Underway for Suspect in Richland County Murder

Deputies say the suspect(s) may be in the victim's black 2011 Chevy Malibu LS (4-door), which was missing from the crime scene.

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WLTX) - Deputies are asking for the public's help to identify a suspect wanted for the murder of Beethoven Romain on Saturday. 

Deputies say the suspect(s) may be in the victim's black 2011 Chevy Malibu LS (4-door), which was missing from the crime scene. 

Beethoven Romain, 28, died from a gunshot wound to the upper body after being found unresponsive on a road, according to Richland County Coroner Gary Watts.

Lieutenant Curtis Wilson with the Richland County Sheriff's Department said deputies responded to a shots fired call in the 7000-block of Mountain Brook Road around 7:30 p.m. Saturday night.  Deputies found Romain lying unresponsive in the road.

Watts said Romain was transported by Richland County EMS to Palmetto Health Richland, where he died just after 10 p.m. Saturday night.
