Two Charged in Lexington Co. Ballpark Concession Stand Burglary

Two women have been arrested in Lexington County for breaking into a concession stand.

Pelion, SC (WLTX) -- The Lexington County Sheriff's Department has arrested two women in connection to a burglary at a concession stand at a Pelion sports complex.

Deputies arrested Brittney McDaniel and Kayla Wallace following a brief pursuit near Cooper Park.

“A deputy responded to a call of a burglary in progress and saw McDaniel and Wallace leaving the concession stand as he arrived at the park,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “They jumped in their car and initiated a pursuit after the deputy activated his blue lights and siren.”

Koon said that the chase ended on Pine Street.  He said the deputy found an ax and a metal hook tool in the car the women were driving.  The deputy also found other items that were property of the sports complex, as well as open containers of alcohol and an unmarked bottle of prescription pills.

Deputies have charged McDaniel and Wallace with third degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, open container of beer and liquor in a vehicle, and possession of a schedule II narcotic.  In addition, McDaniel was charged with minor in possession of beer and liquor, and Wallace was charged with failure to stop for blue lights.
