Lexington Manhunt Suspect was Wanted on Federal Charges

The Lexington County Sheriff's Department says the man was taken into custody in Gilbert near where officers had been patrolling most of the morning.

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WLTX) - Lexington County Deputies have found a wanted man who they spent most of the morning searching for.

Capt. Adam Myrick with the Lexington County Sheriff's Department says 32-year-old Brandon Gentle was taken into custody in Gilbert near where officers had been patrolling most of the morning.

Myrick said early Tuesday morning, officers got a call of a suspicious vehicle near there. When the responding officer got there, he found Gentle inside the car.

Myrick says there was some type of encounter between the suspect and officer, and Gentle ran off.  The deputy was able to get some information from the suspect's car that helped investigators determine he wanted by law enforcement.

According to deputies, he had an outstanding warrant from Huntsville, Alabama for a bond violation on federal drug charges.

Officers had a heavy presence in the Gilbert area, near Crouch Circle and Beulah Church Road, as they tried to take him into custody.
