ORANGEBURG, SC (WLTX) - Orangeburg County deputies arrested a Eutawville man following an early Sunday morning shooting.

Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said around 1 a.m., two males had an argument about a woman inside the Fish Tails Club in Eutawville.

Deputies said the men then went outside where there was a physical confrontation.

Deputies continued to say the suspect, Oscar Melvin, presented a handgun, shot the 28-year-old male victim and then left the club.

At 1:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the location and upon arrival located a male surrounded by his friends suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers were able to obtain a location for Melvin. After locating Melvin at his home, Melvin told officers where the handgun was located in his home.

Deputies said they've responded to this location 7 times since 2005 with incidents ranging from thefts to civil disturbances.

The victim is in the hospital and his condition is critical.
