Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A fourth suspect has been arrested in connection with a string of dog thefts from the Columbia Animal Shelter.
The 13-year-old turned himself over to authorities Thursday. Three other suspects were already in custody.
Over a period of three weeks, suspects stole animals from the shelter three separate times. Police say two of the suspects were arrested as they were trying to enter the place a fourth time.
Police say pit bulls were taken each time. At least 17 dogs later were found at a location in Bamberg County.
