Lugoff, S.C. (WLTX)--The Kershaw County Sheriff's Department has bloodhounds and deputies searching for the thief who robbed a bank earlier today.

Sheriff Jim Matthews says about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, a man walked into the First Palmetto Savings Bank, pulled out a handgun, demanded money, got it and left.

The bank is located along Highway 1 in Lugoff.  Investigators have been on the scene ever since, trying to gather information that might lead them to a suspect. Witnesses say the man was wearing a t-shirt and blue jeans.

Investigators think he might have had a getaway car nearby. But they have the blood hounds trying to pick up the man's scent.

No one in the bank was hurt during the incident.
