Richland County, SC (WLTX) - Richland County deputies have arrested two suspect in connection with the shooting deaths of two men.
Officers announced that 27-year-old William Anthony Wallace and 36-year-old DeAndre Leroy Diggs are charged with two counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, 3 counts of kidnapping, and two counts of armed robbery.
Back on June 28, deputies responded to Beckham Swamp and Bluff Roads after a driver flagged them down. The driver led them to woman who he'd found walking out of the woods with a gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment. Once there, she told officers that there were other victims at 8100 Garners Ferry Road. When officers went to that location, they found two men who were shot in the head. They were taken to the hospital where they later died.
Sheriff Leon Lott says the two male victims were bound by the suspects first, then shot. According to Lott, one of the men was in a wheelchair, and the victims were tortured before they were shot.
The woman, identified as one of the victim's girlfriends, was called to the scene. She was taken to the woods and shot, but survived, and was able to make to the road where she found the driver.
Lott says Diggs and Wallace were at the apartment to rob the suspects. He adds that the female victim is in protective custody, and that she received a death threat while at the hospital.
Lott says Wallace had been released from prison in May after serving time for another murder he committed in 2004.
