Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Columbia police are searching for a robbery suspect believed to have pointed a gun and pulled the trigger during a robbery at a gas station.

Officers say the suspect entered the S Mart at 321 Greystone Boulevard around 6:30 a.m. Monday. According to witnesses, he pulled what's believed to be a gun on the store clerk and demanded money.

At one point during the crime, one of the witnesses saw the man pull the trigger, heard a "click," but the gun didn't fire.

No one was injured during the armed robbery.

The man then took the register with the cash inside and ran, and got into a black, older model Jeep Cherokee with paper tags. The vehicle was last seen heading towards Stoneridge Drive.
