Warren McDaniels (Richland County Detention Center)
Richland County, SC (WLTX) - Richland County deputies have arrested a man they say robbed a Family Dollar store, and was hit by a store employee during the crime.
Officers have arrested 45-year-old Warren McDaniels for robbery and assault.
Officers say a Crimestoppers tip lead investigators to a home on Hoyt Street.
Back on July 28, officers say McDaniels entered the Family Dollar at 1735 Decker Boulevard. Investigators say he pretended to make a purchase, and when the register opened, he tried to grab money out of the machine. Previous Coverage: Store Manager Beats Up Robber
The store's manager told News19 last week that she got hit in the scuffle, and responded by repeatedly slapping and hitting the suspect on the head. Surveillance video of the incident was released from the incident.
Sheriff Leon Lott stated that this investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are forthcoming.
