Fairfield County, SC (WLTX) - Deputies say a Fairfield County couple was found shot to death at their home Monday, and investigators are holding her son as a person of interest in the case.
Officers made the discovery of a man and a woman's body at Salem's Crossing, which is near the intersection of Highway 215 and Highway 34.
Detectives say co-workers of the female victim got concerned when the woman didn't show up to work Monday, and asked law enforcement to do a welfare check. When deputies arrived, they found the couple's bodies outside.
Investigators concluded they'd been shot with a high-powered rifle.
Officers say the couple's son was inside the home. He has been taken into custody as a person of interest, but has not yet been charged with any crime.
