Orangeburg, SC (WLTX) -- Orangeburg Sheriff Leroy Ravenell is requesting assistance in locating a man accused of dousing a woman in gasoline then threatening to light her on fire in May.

Joseph Williams Dinkins has not been found, and Sheriff Ravenell is asking the public to keep their eyes out for him. He was charged initially with Criminal Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature. Now a warrant has also been issued for Failure To Appear.
Early one morning in May of 2012, officers were called to a Valerie Drive residence in Orangeburg. Upon arrival, they discovered a woman had attempted to end her 5 year relationship with Dinkins.
She alleges that he became angry, tearing a picture from a wall and throwing it out of the house. The victim told officers Dinkins then exited the home, returning with a gas can, proceeding to pour gasoline on her.
She says he then began flicking a cigarette lighter in her direction, saying "If I can't have you then nobody can." She managed to escape and contact law enforcement.
