Deputy Recovering After 750-Pound Cow Charges at Him

JEFFERSON COUNTY - A deputy is recovering from a concussion after a 750 pound cow charged at him in Beaumont Saturday afternoon.

Officials with the Jefferson county sheriff’s office said the deputies were investigating a report of a loose cow near Delaware st.

When the deputy spotted the cow and attempted to corner the animal it ended up charging at him.

The Jefferson County Livestock officials responded to the scene and had to tranquilize the cow and remove it. Deputies have been searching for the animal since April but the cow is now reunited with its owner.

The deputy was treated at the hospital but then released.
