West Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Amazon made its first Midlands donation to Glenforest School.

Glenforest School bought 21 of their upperclassmen students Kindles to use in class. After seeing how well the students worked with them, they asked Amazon to donate some to the school.

"I think its great that the underclassmen can enjoy it longer than I have been able to enjoy it...we just got them and its great to have them," said Senior Savannah Calbert.

Amazon donated 42 Kindles so that every student in the school could have one.

I love the idea of how they are using technology as a way to teach the students," said General Manager John Petta. It is helping the students to learn quicker and deeper into the subject."

School officials say the Kindles will be up and running in the classrooms on Monday.
