Finalists for Lexington 2 Superintendent Announced

Lexington, SC (WLTX) --The Lexington Two School Board has selected three candidates as finalists for Superintendent-elect.

Each candidate has more than 35 years of experience in education

The first candidate is Dr. William James. He currently serves as an educational consultant for the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind. He has served as a Superintendent in Cherokee Counties and has a past in Lexington Two, serving as principal at Airport High School from 1995-1997.

The second candidate is Dr. Tom Siler. He currently serves as the Superintendent of Schools for Williston School District 29 in Barnwell County. He has ties to the Midlands, serving in Leadership roles in Lexington District One and Newberry County.

And last there's Brenda Turner. Turner currently is the Superintendent for Orangeburg District Four. She has also served as a classroom teacher and principal in Lexington Two, Sumter and in the Upstate.

The candidates will meet with district staff on July 21, 22, and 23.

Each finalist will spend a full day in the Lexington Two school district meeting with district staff as well as a community reception.

The board plans to announce the superintendent-elect in late July.

One of the candidates will replace Dr.Venus Holland, who announced earlier this year her retirement. Her last day is June 30, 2015.
