Some Schools WILL Be in Session Friday

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Most Midlands school districts are closed because of an executive order issued by Governor Nikki Haley due to Hurricane Matthew. However, that doesn't mean all districts are shut down.

In the Midlands, Kershaw County Schools, Newberry County Schools, and Saluda County Schools remain open for Friday as regularly scheduled.

Most private school did not shut down either.

Haley closed most of the other districts to ease traffic congestion from evacuees leaving the coast. Fairfield County was not part of the original order, but decided to close as well.
