Feeling Down? How to Win Over Election Depression

Columbia, SC (WLTX)- Now that the election is over, if you are feeling emotionally drained you are not alone. According to a study, this political cycle has many emotionally distressed. 

Dr. Stephanie Berg with Palmetto Health says there are some ways people can navigate through their feelings especially if you are dealing with the fact your candidate did not win.

She suggests looking at the positive. Dr. Berg encourages those who are dealing with a lot of the negativity to combat it with the positive affirmations.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, reach for support to friends and family members. Dr. Berg also suggests those who are celebrating a win are urged to use restraint especially on social media. 

Dr. Berg says the bottom line is: "We are a community and coming together is the most important thing for the future."
