Free Dental Day Expected to Draw Hundreds

Hundreds expected at the State Fairgrounds for a free dental clinic. News 19's Janae Frazier is there with a look at how people are getting help.

Columbia, SC (WLTX)- Those in need of dental care will be able to see a dentist at no cost during a one-day free dental clinic Friday. 

The South Carolina Dental Association is hosted the event at the South Carolina State Fairgrounds. 

Organizers expect between 800-1,000 South Carolinians to sign up for care. 

The one-day free dental clinic kicked off bright and early at 6 a.m. Friday and will wrap up at 6 p.m. for those 18 and older. 

Again, the event is happening at the South Carolina Fairgrounds in the Goodman and Cantey Buildings. It is located at 1200 Rosewood Drive in Columbia. Patients are asked to enter through Gate 6.

The South Carolina Dental Association has provided over 12,000 people with $6.8 million in free services since Dental Access Days launched in 2009.
