2 Assaulted, Shoes Taken at Gunpoint

Richland County, S.C. (WLTX)-- What started as an argument inside a convenience store resulted in a two people being assaulted, and their shoes taken at gunpoint.

It happened Thursday night at the Kangaroo gas station, located off of Longtown Road near Longreen Parkway.

Richland County Sheriff's Deputies say they were called to the business just before 10:00 p.m. They say the victims had been approached inside the business by two men they didn't know. The group got into an argument. It's not clear why. But the two victims walked out of the business, and one was assaulted by one of the men they'd argued with. The second victim tried to help and was assaulted as well, that's when deputies say one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and demanded the victims give him their shoes.

The gunman and the second suspect then left the location. Richland County investigators are hoping surveillance video from the store will provide them more information so they can identify the suspects.
