3 New Rides Coming to the State Fair

Three new rides coming to State Fair in October

Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- The South Carolina State Fair is less than a month away and this year there will be three new rides to enjoy!

The first new ride is called the Freak Out.  It towers at 70 feet and seats 16 people, taking them on a thrilling journey into the sky.  Passengers swing out to dangle over the Midway as they rise to 40 feet in the air at a 120 degree angle, all while their seats rotate.

The second new ride is called Chopper Charlie.  This brand-new kiddie ride will soar you fifty feet in the sky, gently swaying up and down and round and round.  The race is on for the riders in the cockpit, because they're in charge of the chopper's throttle.

The last ride is called The Tornado.  The intermediate “tweener” ride lets passengers spin at will! It lifts 7-1/2 feet and tilts at 20 degrees, providing a great visual effect while causing the cars to swing in and out.

Starting this year, you can exchange your ride voucher for a Pay-One-Price wristband to enjoy unlimited rides all day. The offer is available every day of the fair.

Tickets for the fair can be bought at Walgreens and online at www.scstatefair.org.

The fair runs October 12-23.
