3 Now Dead in I-26 Crash

BOWMAN, S.C. (AP) - The Orangeburg County Coroner's Office says three people have died after a tractor trailer ran off Interstate 26 and was torn apart after hitting several trees.

Troopers say the wreck happened around 3 a.m. Thursday near mile marker 164.

Orangeburg County Chief Deputy Coroner Sean Fogle told The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg (http://bit.ly/1jNxlJy ) that three people died from injuries in the crash. He says he is trying to notify family members of the victims in another state and did not release any names.

The trees sheared off the cab and trailer of the truck down to its frame. The contents of the truck ended up scattered all along the side of the highway.
