5 Points Businesses Set Up Sandbags


Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Businesses in Columbia's Five Points are putting up sandbags in front of their businesses to prepare for potential record rainfall.

News19 found employees at some shops putting the sand-filled sacks around their storefronts Friday afternoon.

The entertainment and food district historically has been flood-prone even in flash flooding; with record rainfall expected, the area could be a prime area for high waters. 

Forecasts are calling from anywhere from five to 15 inches or rain across the Midlands by the end of the weekend.
