A Hot Weekend For Mid-September

The sunflowers experiment this year has worked well so far.

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Julia will continue to be weak and will meander well off the South Carolina coast. It is expected to become post-tropical by late Sunday. The only impact on the state will be a few coastal showers, otherwise it will be dry over much of the state.

There will be plenty of sunshine this weekend with some patchy morning fog. It will be hotter and more humid going into Monday. Temperatures will climb into the low 90s for highs. A cold front will be moving into the Midlands on Monday and there will be a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms.

The frontal passage will be late Monday and it will bring an end to any chance for rain. Dry weather is expected for the remainder of the workweek. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s with lows at night in the upper 60s. This is still unseasonably warm for this time of year. Our first taste of fall will not come until the end of the month.
