Authorities Investigating Fatal Officer-Involved Shooting in York

YORK COUNTY, S.C. - The South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division is investigating following a deadly officer-involved shooting that occurred early Friday morning in York.

According to the York County Sheriff's Office, the officer-involved shooting occurred around 4 a.m.  Friday near the 700 block of East Old Limestone Road. Emergency dispatch said that a man called 911 saying his brother was intoxicated and threatening his mother with a knife inside of a home on E. Limestone Road.

The coroner was called to the scene Friday morning and the York County Sheriff's Office confirmed the subject/victim had died. 

As of 6:45 a.m. E. Old Limestone Road at Branch Road, Shiloh Road and Wood Road are blocked to traffic due to the investigation. Drivers are asked to take alternate routes.
