Boil Water Advisory For Sandhill Area Residents

Columbia, SC (WLTX) The City of Columbia has issued a boil water advisory for residents in the Sandhill area of Columbia.

Columbia Water Works is advising water customers of the 500 & 600 blocks of North Crossing Drive to boil their water for at least one full minute before cooking or drinking. Any resident in this area who have lost water and or water pressure are also advised to vigorously boil their water.

The City of Columbia has experienced an eight inch water main break. This could possibly result in bacterial contamination of the water on the 500 & 600 blocks of North Crossing Drive. Also, any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.

The City of Columbia Water Works is presently working to correct the problem.
