Bond Set at $100,000 in Stabbing Death Case

Lexington, SC (WLTX) - Bond has been set at $100,000 for the suspect accused of stabbing to death a Dutch Fork High School student.

Kierin Marcellus Dennis, 19, is charged with murder in the February death of 17-year-old Da'Von Capers.

Lexington Police arrested Dennis after they say he killed Capers outside the Cookout Restaurant on West Main Street in Lexington. Previous Coverage:Suspect in Killing Makes Court Appearance

His attorney has said Dennis was trying to defend himself, and intends on employing the stand your ground defense when the case comes to trial. Investigators have said they believe there was a fight prior to the stabbing that stemmed from the Lexington-Dutch Fork boy's basketball game that took place earlier in the evening.

If Dennis is able to pay the bond, he will be on home detention, meaning he can only go to work, a job, home, or his attorney's office.
