Car Damaged by Gunfire Outside High school Football Game

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Columbia police say a vehicle was damaged in connection with reports of shots fired near Bolden Stadium during CA Johnson-Eau Claire football game Friday night.

Officers say they were patrolling the area when dispatch received a call about car being damaged by gunfire.

Columbia Police Department spokesperson Jennifer Timmons says officers found the vehicle with the rear window shattered.

Officials say the car was hit by a bullet while traveling on the 2500 block of Barhamville Road.

Five people were inside the vehicle at the time and no one was injured.

Timmons says a safety plan is in place to patrol that area and others in the city tonight.
