Carjacking, Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

Columbia Police have arrested a man in connection with a series of crimes on Garners Ferry road. Hes 21-year-old Cameron Williams.

COLUMBIA, SC (WLTX) - A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a series of crimes, including carjacking and armed robbery, on Garners Ferry Road, According to the Columbia Police Department.

Cameron Christopher Williams, 21, is charged with carjacking, attempted carjacking and armed robbery. He is currently. Williams is being detained at at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center on a $25,000 surety bond  

Police say Williams demanded a vehicle from a woman at gunpoint and then stole the SUV at Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, located at 7503 Garners Ferry Road, on June 23, 2017.

The following day, police say Williams, armed with a handgun, attempted to steal another woman's car at the Richland County Library Southeast Branch, located at 7421 Garners Ferry Road. He left the scene when the woman told him she didn’t have the car keys.

No one was injured during either incident.
