Chief of Winnsboro Public Safety Arrested in Prostitution Sting

The Winnsboro Chief of Public Safety was arrested in a prostitution sting.

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Chief of Winnsboro Department of Public Safety Freddy Lorick, Sr. was arrested and charged with soliciting for prostitution during a larger operation Friday.

According to the Columbia Police Department, the organized crime and narcotics unit made nine other arrests related to a prostitution sting at a hotel in the Greystone Road area.

During Lorick's arrest officers said he identified himself as the Chief of the Winnsboro Department of Public Safety before requesting medical attention and being transported to a local hospital.

Winnsboro Town Mayor Roger Gaddy told News 19 that Lorick will be placed on administrative leave pending the investigation.

Herbert Addison, Julio Cesar, Christopher Epps, Raheem Jones, Anthony Mathis, Floyd Hargis, Jeff Wakefield, Mack Ward and William Garrett were also arrested and charged with the same crime.

Garrett was also charged with possession of cocaine.
