Columbia Warns Drivers: Stay Away from Flood-Prone Streets

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The City of Columbia is warning drivers to stay away from flood-prone streets and intersections, in advance of a tropical system's arrival.

Hermine is expected to bring anywhere from 4 to 8 inches of rain to the Midlands Friday into early Saturday morning.

Columbia police say they know the intersections that typically flood with much less rainfall, and they say drivers should avoid those areas Friday if they can.
