Richland County, SC (WLTX) - Danielle Lavonne Coburn-Govan was identified late Saturday afternoon as the woman killed in a possible murder-suicide.
Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said the 46-year-old woman was found dead inside of her home on Morningside Drive in Columbia.
An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday morning to determine her exact cause of death.
According to the Richland County Sheriff's Department, deputies performed a welfare check on Colburn-Govan at approximately 6:15.
Inside the home, deputies found her dead with a gunshot wound to the upper body. The sheriff's department said the woman's husband was also found dead, but in Orangeburg County.
According to the City of Orangeburg Department of Public Safety, deputies responded to the 100 block of Sprinkle Street at approximately 3 a.m. Saturday in reference to a possible suicide.
Captain Victor Crowe said officers found that a 38-year-old man had committed suicide.
The agency then called the Richland County Sheriff's Department to perform a welfare check on his wife after they were unable to get in contact with her.
The sheriff's department is still investigating. The agency said it is treating this incident as a possible murder suicide.
