Deputies: Richland County Chase Leads to Crash in West Columbia

Car chase in Richland county ends with a crash in West Columbia

Columbia, SC (WLTX) A chase that began in Richland county ended with a crash in West Columbia according to the Richland County Sheriff's Department. 

Around 2:35 PM Richland county deputies noticed a suspicious car on Broad and Bush RIver roads.  Deputies realized the car was stolen and attempted to detain the car and driver, but the car sped off.  

The chase ended when the stolen car struck another on Hwy 378 in West Columbia near McSwain drive according to Curtis Wilson with the sheriff's department.  

Three people in the stolen car were detained, no word yet on charges.  The other car that was struck, the driver was transported to a local hospital.  No word yet on injuries.
