Charleston, SC (WLTX) - A day that started with light wind and rain has changed significantly.
Downtown Charleston has seen significant flooding since about 8pm Friday night. The streets are quiet, but a few residents remain, waiting out the storm.
However, for the most part the only cars that can be seen on the roads are those of law enforcement.
A curfew was in effect for the overnight hours.
Hurricane Matthew is expected to hit South Carolina with high winds and rains through much of Saturday.
