Four Families Without a Home After West Columbia Apartment Fire

Four families were left without a home after Thursday's fire.

Columbia,n SC (WLTX)- A fire Thursday afternoon changed the lives of a few families that call the Riverbend Apartment complex home.

According to West Columbia Fire Chief Solomon, a fire broke out around 12:30 p.m. and caused damage to about five units. Around 15 units responded from West Columbia, Cayce, Lexington and City of Columbia Fire Departments. 

There were no injuries in the fire. However, it did leave four families displaced. 

The cause is currently under investigation. 

This was a considered a 2 alarm because they were apartments and were densely occupied.
