Freeze Warning ContinuesIn The Midlands

A cold rain is expected Monday, and very cold temperatures by Thursday morning. Here is the forecast.

Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- A freeze warning remains in effect for most of the Midlands until 10 AM this Monday morning.

Skies are starting clear, for now. Temperatures will fall into the lower 30s across the Midlands this morning.

A freeze warning is in effect for most of the News 19 viewing area. The only exceptions are Aiken, Calhoun and Orangeburg counties. 

Temperatures will rise above freezing during the mid-morning hours Monday and rain will develop. Scattered rain showers are expected through most of the day Monday. High temperatures will only be in the middle to upper 40s.

The showers will continue overnight Monday into early Tuesday. Warmer conditions are expected Tuesday, but as we go into mid-week colder air will move in. A hard freeze is possible Thursday and Friday morning.

Gradually temperatures will warm by the end of the workweek, highs will be in the lower 60s by Friday.
