Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and South Carolina Senator Brad Hutto (D-Orangeburg) will face off in November for one of South Carolina's senate seats.
Graham avoided a runoff in a deep Republican field by grabbing 56% of the vote. He says his team raised $1.1 million for the primary.
"We made a big deal about me trying to get things done. Have you noticed the ads?" Graham said at an election results party. "I really try to solve problems because I think that's part of the job."
Hutto also avoided a runoff against one other Democratic opponent for the nomination.
At a results party, Hutto thanked supporters for voting for a change in Washington.
"First day of the second season starts tomorrow," Hutto said. "Looking forward to running against Senator Graham. I think I stand in stark contrast to what he's represented over the years."
The general election is set for November 4th.
