'Grinch' Steals Christmas Decorations

A 'grinch' has stolen Christmas decorations from Pineview Florist in West Columbia.

West Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A “grinch” stole Christmas decorations from a Midlands flower shop.

Pineview Florist had lights and trees worth more than $500 stolen from the front of their business sometime Tuesday night.

“You know it's kind of disappointing, you know Christmas is a time of giving and sharing and all that good stuff and then you come in realize all your things are gone,” Jami Gantt of Pineview Florist said. “It was two very large topiaries that were spiral cut with Christmas lights on them.”

The business has been in the family since 1976.

Sadly the shop isn't new to thieves.

“We've had some wreaths stolen before some things like that, but fortunately no baby Jesus in a manger or anything like that been missing,” Gantt said. “I hope that maybe kids get to enjoy them or somebody enjoys them or something like that but probably not the best policy for going around taking people's things.”

Gantt says they will continue to decorate the outside of the shop but they're going to change their camera angles so that they can better monitor any future potential thieves.
