Hot Air Balloon Landed Safely in Newberry County, Despite Caller Concerns

NEWBERRY COUNTY, SC (WLTX) - Newberry deputies say all is well, despite caller concerns that a hot air balloon may have crashed in the area.

Deputies say they received a number of calls late Monday to report a possible crash landing of a hot air balloon.

Sheriff Lee Foster say deputies responded and found the balloon in a field, having landed safely. Foster isn't sure what they were doing in the area, but says reports of a crash aren't true.

These photos, taken by Newberry resident Ashley Mace, show the balloon slowly descending, not too far from a residential area.
